The February full moon is named the Snow moon by native Americans as in North America it is cold and wintery, often when the snowy weather comes in. It’s also known as the Hunger Moon because the bad weather makes hunting difficult.

Othe names include Storm Moon, Bear Moon and Eagle moon.
